IMPORTANT CHANGES FOLLOWING COVID-19
There are now screening measures in place for everyone entering our hospital including patients, staff, doctors, carers/support people and contractors.
Not unlike other healthcare facilities, we have nominated “screening officers” on site that will ensure anyone entering the hospital facility is asked some screening questions and has their temperature taken. If you pass screening you will be given a sticker to display on your clothing. If a person presents with a temperature ≥38°C or has been unwell with a new cough, sore throat or difficulty breathing, they should call the COVID-19 hotline or visit our COVID-19 clinic for assessment – you will NOT proceed to procedure if you are symptomatic.
Visitors must NOT have travelled overseas in the last 14 days, NOT been in close contact with a person who has been diagnosed positive for COVID-19 in the last 14 days, or have fever, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath.
We have also implemented reduced waiting area seating to support social distances measures in the main reception. Sneeze screens / barriers have also been installed and enhanced telephone triaging / pre procedural processes have been implemented to capture more COVID centric preventative aspects. Carers / visitors to the hospital are also NOT permitted to follow patients post admission into their patient bay and are encouraged to follow a drop off / collect policy. Exceptions to this rule are managed on a case by case basis by clinical staff and management.
Our hospital common areas are also disinfected hourly every weekday above the daily / enhanced cleaning and disinfection at that occurred pre COVID conditions across the entire hospital site. Our PPE and infection prevention have also been enhanced as per the current guidelines for endoscopic procedures, which we anticipate will remain in place moving forward.
Your ongoing support and compliance during these uncertain times is appreciated by all hospital personnel.
