ACCREDITATION AND QUALITY

Hospital accreditation

Accreditation of health services is a process through which services undergo external review against national and international standards in order to continuously improve quality of care.


The Northern Endoscopy Centre is accredited using the National Safety & Quality Health Service Standards developed by the Australian Commission on Safety & Quality in Health Care (ACSQHC). These standards were introduced in 2013 to provide consistent and independent assurance about the quality and safety of healthcare services across Australia. From January 2019 the 2nd Edition of the National Safety & Quality Health Service Standards came into effect. These standards have been further refined to improve the quality of health care provided to patients in hospitals across Australia.

Our facility and staff are regularly audited for compliance with national infection prevention and control guidelines, Australian Standards for reprocessing of reusable instruments, ISO9001:2015 and the Australian Commission of Safety and Quality in Healthcare (ACSQHC) National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards.


Our comprehensive audit program ensures we meet all of the required NSQHS and ISO standards and identifies any improvements that can be made to ensure our excellent safety and quality record is upheld.
